The American Spontoon Spear Head by Cold Steel is based on historical spontoon examples and features a compact, period-inspired design intended for collecting and historical display. Cold Steel President Lynn C. Thompson became interested in the spontoon after reading Tim Willocks' novel The Twelve Children of Paris three times, inspiring Cold Steel to create a model informed by period designs. The 1055 carbon steel blade measures 10.5 inches long and 4 mm thick, with 3.5-inch wings on either side. It is mounted on a stout ash wood pole with a decorative three-ring socket.
