Description
This listing is for the Colichemarde Dagger (CS88CLMD). The Colichemarde Sword (CS88CLMS) is sold separately. The Colichemarde design emerged in the late 1600s during the transition from the Rapier to the small sword. Its distinctive blade profile has a wide forte that narrows along the remainder of its length to a pointed tip. Cold Steel president Lynn C. Thompson, a long-time admirer of the historical design and its distinctive proportions, enlisted Dave Baker to create this modern interpretation. The blade reflects the original design concept, while the hilt includes a decorative double-shell guard with finger loops and a knuckle bow. The grip is fully wire-wrapped and finished with a matching pommel. The dagger also features double quillons and a ground and polished blade. A collectible piece intended for historical display.
