Cinquedea

The Cinquedea [Ching-kwi-dey-uh] has long fascinated the team at Cold Steel. Inspired by surviving Italian Renaissance examples, this collectible display piece reflects a distinctive short-handled, steeply tapered blade design. Historical examples are often highly embellished, with etched or gilded blades and deep multiple fullers that give them a jewellery-like appearance. Cold Steel's interpretation of the Cinquedea is made from expertly heat-treated carbon steel, with a highly engraved guard and pommel and a hand-carved rosewood grip. The Cinquedea is supplied with a leather scabbard featuring an engraved steel throat and chape.
