Description
The Viking Short Blade Spear from Hanwei is a collectible, Viking-style spearhead inspired by Celtic-origin forms adopted in Scandinavia. Its compact 6 inch blade and 9 1/2 inch overall length recreate a short, rigid period profile, while the decorated surface reflects the historical tradition of combining practical forms with detailed ornamentation. The finish recreates the visual character of traditional Niello work, with dark detailing contrasting against polished metal to emphasise the incised patterns. Hanwei achieves a lustrous, permanent Niello-like effect without using the historical metal-and-sulphur process. Supplied as a spearhead only, it is designed for mounting on a 1 inch diameter shaft.
