This Medieval Sword is a hand-and-a-half design from the early 14th century. The term stems from its potential for use as a one handed or two handed sword. The hardwood handle is shaped, making it surprisingly easy to handle. Crafted in much the same way as swords were made centuries ago, except that the blades are now forged from high-carbon spring steel, a resource unavailable off-the-shelf to the smiths of the old. The blade has a light polished finish which is closely replicating what the medieval swordsmith was able to achieve. As ever, John Barnett quality stands out in this sword dating from around 1400.
