John Barnett designed museum-quality replica Roman Sparta sword, ideal as a display piece this particular model was originally used by the Roman cavalry and as horseman were regularly recruited from Gallic tribes the sword owes its origin to the Celts. The Roman Sparta began to replace the shorter gladius as the primary Roman sword from about AD.100 onwards. It was typically a straight and long sword.
