Description
The Autumn Leaf Katana Forged by Dragon King pairs traditional Japanese sword styling with a refined seasonal motif. Inspired by the symbolism of the ginkgo leaf, the design balances themes of longevity and finality through its blackened moon-shaped stainless steel tsuba, falling leaf silhouettes and good-fortune grasshopper and bell cricket menuki. It is a striking choice for collectors who appreciate meaningful detailing alongside authentic construction cues. The forged 5160 carbon steel blade is differentially tempered, with a hard edge rated around HRC 60 and a more resilient back at approximately HRC 40. Its 27 1/4" blade, 1 1/2" kissaki and robust geometry are intended for clean cutting performance on appropriate soft and semi-hard media, while the 1 1/8" sori gives the sword a classic katana profile. The 12" tsuka is secured with double bamboo mekugi and wrapped in tan tsuka-ito, offsetting the blackened fittings. A black lacquered saya completes the piece, featuring a buffalo horn-rimmed koiguchi and kurikata with a black sageo. Please note that the sageo on the saya may not be wrapped exactly as pictured.
