The 28" blade is made from 1566 high-carbon steel and hardened to 50 HRC, balancing resilience with controlled edge wear. It is unsharpened, with 1/16" wide safety edges and a rounded tip, plus a substantial tang with radiused blade shoulders and a riveted pommel assembly for secure long-term use. Despite its solid build, the fullers help keep the sword lively in the hand, with a point of balance at 7" and an overall weight of 2 lb 13 oz. A leather-covered hardwood grip completes the historically styled hilt, while the included glass-filled resin scabbard is designed to minimise swelling and help reduce blade corrosion concerns. Adjustable belt rings allow vertical or horizontal carry, and the wood-grain finish provides an attractive base for re-enactors who wish to customise the presentation to suit their kit.
