The Citadel Dragon Katana is a limited-edition Japanese sword produced in the maker’s small Phnom Penh workshop, where each piece is crafted individually from start to finish. Restricted to 100 swords, every example is signed by the smith on the nakago with its sword number and supplied with a matching certificate, making it a distinctive collectible and display piece. The 28" blade is hand forged from DNH7 high carbon steel and differentially hardened, with approximately HRC 60 at the edge and HRC 40 at the back. A full-length bo-hi continues through the habaki and into the nakago, while the copper habaki is shaped to follow the groove. The blade is hand polished using traditional stones and powders. The water dragon theme is reflected throughout the fittings, including the dragon and wave tsuba and the turbulent water-inspired fuchi and kashira. The tsuka is carved to fit the individual sword, finished with a full same-gawa wrap and dark blue silk ito imported from Japan. A deep blue lacquered saya with same-gawa detailing completes the presentation.
