The PSK XL Katana returns CAS Hanwei’s well-regarded Performance Series with its established Performance XL blade geometry and refreshed fittings for a cleaner, more classic appearance. The updated tsuba, fuchi, kashira and menuki are produced from new tooling, giving the piece a crisp finish while retaining the low-maintenance synthetic tsuka components associated with the Practical Katana lineage. Its 28 1/2-inch blade is forged from 1566 steel and differentially hardened to HRC 60 at the edge and HRC 40 at the spine, combining a hard edge with a more resilient spine. With an overall length of 40 3/4 inches, a 5-inch point of balance and a weight of 2 lb 14 oz, the PSK XL Katana is a substantial collectible within the CAS Hanwei range. Produced under the continuing CAS Hanwei brand tradition, this updated model reflects manufacturing knowledge carried forward from the original Hanwei heritage.
