Pine Crane Katana

The Pine Crane Katana by Dragon King is a beautifully considered Japanese sword inspired by two enduring symbols of Japanese culture: the red-crowned crane and the pine tree. Associated with longevity, wisdom and authority, the motif is carried through the sword’s fittings in warm earth tones and finely detailed bronzed steel, giving the piece a strong display presence without overpowering its traditional lines. Its forged T10 steel blade measures 28 1/4" and features a prominent hamon with a mirror-finished ji and mune. With a 12" tsuka, black cotton ito over white same, silver crane menuki and carefully matched bronzed fittings, the katana offers a balanced blend of craftsmanship and visual depth. The blade is differentially hardened to approximately HRC 60 at the edge and HRC 40 at the back, supporting the classic structure expected of a quality Japanese-style sword. The presentation is completed by a textured brown saya, highlighted by black and matt striped paintwork to the first section, a charcoal and copper-accented sageo, and buffalo horn korikata and kojiri.
