Pine Crane Katana

The Pine Crane Katana by Dragon King is a carefully considered collectible Japanese sword inspired by two enduring symbols of Japanese culture: the red-crowned crane and the pine tree. Associated with longevity, wisdom and authority, the motif is carried through the fittings in warm earth tones and finely detailed bronzed steel, giving the piece a strong display presence while retaining its traditional lines. Its forged T10 steel blade measures 28 1/4 inches and features a prominent hamon with a mirror-finished ji and mune. The 12-inch tsuka has black cotton ito over white same, silver crane menuki and coordinated bronzed fittings, creating a refined combination of craftsmanship and visual detail. The blade is differentially hardened to approximately HRC 60 at the edge and HRC 40 at the back, reflecting traditional Japanese-style blade construction. The presentation is completed by a textured brown saya with black and matt striped paintwork on the first section, a charcoal and copper-accented sageo, and buffalo horn korikata and kojiri.
