Description
The Autumn Leaf Katana by Dragon King pairs functional Japanese sword construction with a refined seasonal theme. Its design draws on the long-standing symbolism of the ginkgo leaf, representing longevity and duality, with falling leaves framed against a blackened moon-shaped stainless steel tsuba. Grasshopper and bell cricket menuki add further Japanese cultural symbolism, associated with good fortune and the sounds of autumn evenings. The 29 1/4" blade is forged from 5160 through-tempered carbon steel and features a 1 1/2" kissaki, with blade geometry intended for reliable cutting performance on suitable soft and semi-hard targets. The handle is double pinned with bamboo mekugi and wrapped in tan tsuka-ito, contrasting neatly with the blackened fittings. Completing the piece is a brown textured lacquered saya with buffalo horn at the koiguchi and kurikata, plus a black sageo. Please note that the sageo on the saya may not be wrapped exactly as pictured.
