Spring Katana Forged

The Dragon King Spring Katana Forged, also known through its Spring Sakura theme, is a Japanese sword inspired by the fleeting beauty of the sakura, or cherry blossom. Its fittings use a restrained black-and-crimson palette, allowing the cherry blossom motif to stand out across the tsuba and menuki while keeping the overall presentation refined and traditional. The 27 1/2" blade is forged from 5160 steel and differentially tempered, with a stated HRC 60 edge and HRC 40 back. A 3/4" sori gives the blade its classic katana curvature, while the silver habaki and notched seppa complete the mount with careful attention to detail. The wood-core tsuka is finished with white same and crimson tsuka-ito, complemented by blackened fuchi and kashira. Supplied with a black lacquered saya, the sword features a buffalo horn-rimmed koiguchi, wooden kurikata and black sageo. Please note that the sageo on the saya may not be wrapped exactly as pictured.
